The origin of rugby

During a football game in 1823 at the university on rugby in Warwickshire England Webb Ellis decided to pick the ball and go for it so goes the legend, although this theory was never proved the world rugby cup is named after him. However forms of football in which the ball was carried and tossed date to medivial times

Rugby later split into two sports in 1895 (rugby union and rugby league) due to broken time payment to players who took time off work to play the sport and formed the rugby league we know today, Rugby union did not turn pro till 100 years later following the 1995 Rugby world cup in South Africa (the first rugby worldcup was held in 1987 in Australia)

since then the sport has grown dramatically and is one of the world's fastest growing sports

Rugby's alltime best players include Jonah Lomu, Dan Carter, Waisale serevi in the game of 7s, and more receently Ma' Allan Nonu

My personal bests include Collins Injera, cheslin kolbe, Nehe Milner Skudder and Napolioni bolaca in the game of 7s
